Green Burial in a National Park
Can you be buried in a National Park?
Many people love their National Park so much that they would love to be buried on the government grounds.
Well, the short answer to that one is NO, you cannot be buried in a National Park, but you can get a permit to scatter your ashes.
You must get a permit to scatter cremains in the park. Most permits are issued after someone has been cremated but they can also issue a permit while someone is still alive for later use by an executor.
Here are the links you’ll need to get cremation permits:
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park
Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks
